As from the 1st August 2014 we will no longer be offering travel vaccinations or consultations.
Due to the high demand for GP and nurse appointments and the complexities of providing a full robust travel health service, anyone needing travel consultations/vaccinations is advised to contact the MASTA travel clinic: www. masta-travel -health.com
MASTA offers clinics with up-to-date information regarding all aspects of travel health and vaccine requirements. Unlike general practice, MASTA has access to the full range of vaccines as well as being able to facilitate appointments at short notice. The following websites also offer good information on general travel health along with vaccination requirements:
We have not taken this decision lightly: each patient seen for travel advice/vaccinations takes three general appointments and for a family of four this would mean twelve fewer appointments available out of the working day. We are happy to continue to dispense private prescriptions for Malaria tablets upon request.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make your initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel. Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
The following questionnaire may be helpful for planning your vaccinations.
